Below are some of the most frequently asked questions about Heybeck’s Catering Services

Question: What kind of parties does Heybeck’s cater?
Answer: Over the past 10 years, we’ve planned and catered events of all sizes in back yards, club houses, forest preserves, and even in back alleys. We’ve done them in summer heat and winter snow storms. Whether it’s black tie and white gloves or shorts and sneakers, if it’s a terrific party you want, we can do it when and where it works for you.

Question: Can Heybeck’s help me plan my event?
Answer: Absolutely! Our catering director, Brooke, is incredibly helpful. Just provide her with a few details about the event you’re celebrating, the number of people you plan to invite, the time of year (or a specific date), the location (if you’ve chosen one), and a general idea of your budget, and Brooke will work with you to plan a fantastic, memorable party tailored just for you.

Question: What can your catering director, Brooke, help me with besides the menu?
Answer: Brooke has a million ideas to make your event the most talked-about party of the year. For example, she has loads of suggestions for children’s activities: outdoor games, jumpy houses, and other really cool diversions that kids will love. Brooke is your resource person for themes; decorations; table, chair, glassware, and dishware rental, and other details for any type party you want to give.

Question: Who do I contact to get the ball rolling on my party? Answer: When you’re ready to talk party planning, you can reach Brooke, our catering director, at our sister store in Barrington. Reach her at 847-382-0835. She’ll be there to talk with you from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. She’ll answer all your questions, and she’ll have some for you too.

Question: What if I plan an outdoor party, and it rains?
Answer: You might want to consider renting a tent. Heybeck’s can arrange for that.

Question: How far in advance do I need to schedule my event? Answer: It depends on the type of party and the time of year, but to be sure you get the date you want, reserve your party as soon as possible. Pig roasts are extremely popular – we do over 450 per year from May to October – and though we can do up to six separate pig roasts per day, some dates will fill in faster than others. If you want a pig roast – or another kind of party – for the Fourth of July week, plan as far ahead as you can. But it never hurts to ask if we have an open date when the party mood strikes. We’ll accommodate you if we can.

Question: Does Heybeck’s require a deposit when I reserve the date for my party?
Answer: Yes, Heybeck’s requires a $100 deposit to secure a date.

Question: Is the deposit refundable if I have to cancel?
Answer: Because so much pre-planning goes into a party, Heybeck’s can’t offer a refund, but you can use the deposit to reschedule for another day. We do require a 10-day advance notice if you’ll need to reschedule.

Question: Where can I find a list of the foods your catering service offers?
Answer: Our catering menu with prices is posted online. However, if you’d like a more attractive print version, we’d be happy to mail you one. Just call us at 847-382-0835 or email us with your request and your address.

Question: Is there a limit on the size (number of people) of the party you can cater?
Answer: There is no upper limit on the number of people we can handle, but 30 people is the minimum for a pig roast or similar event. If you want to give a party, but don’t want to plan for 30 people on your own, why not make it a neighborhood event? Or go together with a neighbor or friend to throw a joint party.

Question: Will someone from Heybeck’s visit the party site beforehand to help plan arrangements?
Answer: Yes, someone will be happy to visit to help plan the flow of the party, seating, or other venue-specific details. There is a $50 fee per visit.

Question: If I have a pig roast, what do I get?
Answer: If you want the roasted pig only, and you provide the side dishes, Heybeck’s provides a wood-fired roaster, a server to roast and carve the hog, and a decorative stainless-steel chafing dish to keep the carved meat hot. You also get Heybeck’s own absolutely delicious homemade barbeque sauce. For a full-service pig roast, you get all of the above plus five excellent side dishes (see our catering menu on the site), additional chafing dishes for the hot foods, and a Dinnerware Plastic Service Package. With the beverages you provide, it’s a complete party!
